When you lay in bed trying to sleep for five hours, you start to get irritated and your back starts to hurt. A couple more hours and everything becomes funny. Past 40, you start to hallucinate.
I stopped taking my sleeping aid last night. It’s amazing how something can make you fall asleep earlier and allow you to sleep for longer, yet not provide quality sleep. You wake up tired. It’s cosmetic.
It felt great to just stop and I bypassed the grumpy stage onto laughing.
I fell asleep at 7am and woke up at 8:30am and everything is still funny. I could get used to this.
I have a theory that perhaps I’ve crossed that threshold of lack of sleep. I’ve had insomnia for over 12 years and maybe it has built up in my system, like nicotine in smokers, so that I’ll be in that constantly amused stage.
I hope it lasts.
